Setting up an iTunes Podcast
To submit your podcast to iTunes, we'll do 90% of the heavy lifting for you - there's just a few things to set up.
All you'll need is:
- Your podcast logo (An RGB image at least 1400x1400px at 72 DPI with a maximum file size of 250KB)
- An active Apple account - just the same as you use to buy music or download apps
- One episode already uploaded to audioBoom
Setting your metadata
You can see a detailed guide on how to set your metadata below
Submitting your feed to iTunes
Once you've saved everything, you'll then need to give iTunes your RSS feed address. This can be found on your podcast page, as seen below.
Right-click on the button and Copy Link to grab it.
Then click this link: https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/
Log in to Podcast Connect using your Apple ID, if you don’t already have one create an Apple ID here https://appleid.apple.com/#!&page=create
You will get brought to a page that looks something like the screenshot below
Press the "Plus" icon in the top left to add a new podcast. Then, paste your audioBoom RSS feed URL into the box provided.
This will load all of your podcast data to iTunes and display it on screen so that you can confirm all of the details of your podcast are in the right place.
You will then need to hit the “Validate” button. If you get the green light from Apple, you are ready to go!
If you get an error, or anything else under “Status”, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you get your podcast ready.
After all of this click on “Submit”. The podcast will then be submitted to Apple for approval. Apple can still reject your podcast at this stage, even if all of the details of your podcast have been entered correctly. Including your podcast is entirely at Apple’s discretion.
You should hear back from Apple in about 3 to 5 working days.
If you have any problems, send us a ticket here - and we'll help as much as we can.
